Digital
Photography
Tutoring and Mentoring
I
remember my first camera at age 11, a Brownie 127, and the excitement
of picking up my first rolls of processing.I
built my first darkroom when I was 13 and spent night after night
honing my skills to eventually emerge triumphant with that perfect
print.
Then
came colour. With that came the loss of control over the final print
and eventually, because of this, a total loss of interest.
It was a shame. I had always looked forward to retirement
when I would have all the time in the world that I needed to spend
on this very special interest.
When
Digital Photography was first introduced, I bought a camera to learn
more about what this was. This was a toy but I saw the potential
for fascinating opportunities farther down the road as the technology
developed.
Now
it has matured. I now use a Pentax DSLR, and not only have recovered
the control I had lost, but now have the ability to produce the
perfect picture limited only by the time I have to spend on it.
Having spent 12
years in Computer Technology, both hardware and software development
and design I also have a strong knowledge of the technical side
of digital photography.
I now offer tutoring
and mentoring to experienced film photographers who are interested
in entering the exciting digital photography experience but feel
a little lost and confused as to how to begin. With tutoring and
mentoring you are not alone. As a mentor I can guide you all the
way. As a mentor I can advise you on cameras and software, and as
a mentor I can offer critique.
If the above reminds
